How we compare prices
The rules behind every price you see on PouchHunters.
Where prices come from
Every morning we read each store’s publicly available product catalogue, only where the store’s robots.txt allows it, at a slow and polite rate, and identifying ourselves as PouchHuntersBot. We never bypass log-ins, captchas or other access controls. Stores can also send us a product feed directly. Each product page shows when prices were last checked.
Like-for-like matching
We only group offers under one product when these match exactly:
- brand and product line
- flavour
- nicotine or caffeine strength
- pouch format (slim, mini, regular…)
- number of pouches per can
Matches are checked against each store’s product identifiers. When we’re not sure two listings are the same product, we keep them apart.
Prices, multipacks and shipping
- Price per can is the price for a single can, or the multipack price divided by the number of cans when you choose a larger quantity.
- Price per pouch divides the price per can by the stated number of pouches.
- Shipping is shown as “At checkout” until we have verified each store’s delivery prices — we don’t publish guesses.
- Currency: stores that price in GBP are converted to EUR at a fixed indicative rate so prices can be compared.
- Missing information is shown as missing — never as zero.
Currency
GBP and USD are indicative conversions from EUR list prices (rates fixed 19 Oct 2026). Retailers charge in their own currency.
“Lowest price”, “price drop” and “most compared”
- Lowest price is the lowest in-stock price per can among the stores we track at the last check — not a guarantee that no cheaper price exists anywhere.
- Price drop means a connected store is currently selling below its own previous price, as shown by the store.
- Most compared ranks products by how many tracked stores list them. It is not a sales ranking.
Price history
We store the lowest price for each product every day from the date we start tracking it. Charts show the daily lowest in-stock price.
Corrections
Spotted a wrong price or a mismatched product? Tell us and we’ll check it, usually within one working day.
