Best caffeine pouches in 2026: ranked by dose, price and availability

16 caffeine pouches from 3 brands in stock today, picked by rules over live prices — so the list updates every morning. No nicotine, no tobacco: these are the pouches that replace coffee, not cigarettes.

What a caffeine pouch is, in one paragraph

A caffeine pouch is a nicotine pouch without the nicotine: a small white bag of plant fibre, flavouring and 30–200 mg of caffeine that you tuck under your upper lip. Caffeine absorbs through the mouth lining, so it kicks in within 5–10 minutes — about three times faster than coffee — and lasts 3–5 hours. Most brands add B-vitamins or taurine; a few add nicotine as well, which we list as nicotine pouches, not here. Doses to anchor on: 50 mg is a cup of tea, 100 mg a cup of coffee, 150–200 mg a large energy drink.

How we pick

Each pick is a rule over live data (most stores stocking it in a dose band, highest caffeine, lowest price per 100 mg) applied every morning, so a pick changes when stock or prices do. CREAM is a caffeine pouch brand owned by our parent company; it is marked wherever it appears and gets no preference — the rules are the same for every brand.

Choosing a dose

Start at 50 mg if you drink one or two coffees a day, 100 mg if you drink more, and treat 150–200 mg pouches as a once-a-day product. Caffeine from a pouch hits faster than from a drink, so the same milligrams feel stronger at first. The EFSA guidance for healthy adults is a maximum of 200 mg in one sitting and 400 mg a day from all sources — two 200 mg pouches plus a coffee is over the line. Keep pouches away from children: one 150 mg pouch is a dangerous dose for a small child.

This guide is general information, not medical advice. Caffeine pouches are not recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or people sensitive to caffeine. See our editorial policy.

Frequently asked questions

Do caffeine pouches work?

Yes. Caffeine is absorbed through the lining of the mouth, so a pouch takes effect in about 5–10 minutes — faster than coffee, which has to pass through the stomach — and lasts roughly as long. The dose is what matters: a 50 mg pouch is a cup of tea, 100 mg a cup of coffee, 150–200 mg a large energy drink.

Are caffeine pouches safe?

For healthy adults, as safe as the same amount of caffeine from coffee. The EFSA guideline is up to 400 mg a day and no more than 200 mg in one go. The risks are the usual caffeine ones — jitters, poor sleep, raised heart rate — plus gum irritation from the pouch itself. Not for children, pregnant women or people sensitive to caffeine.

Are caffeine pouches bad for your gums?

They can irritate the gum where they sit, like any pouch. Most contain no nicotine and no tobacco, so there is no nicotine-related gum recession, but rotating placement and keeping sessions under 30 minutes is still sensible.

How long do caffeine pouches last?

Most release their caffeine within 15–30 minutes; the effect lasts 3–5 hours, like coffee. Keeping the pouch in longer than 30 minutes adds little.

Does ZYN make caffeine pouches?

No. ZYN is a nicotine pouch brand. The caffeine pouches in this list come from brands such as Iceberg Energy, R4ve, Fedrs, CREAM and Chapo. Some brands make both nicotine and caffeine lines, so check the can: caffeine pouches state mg of caffeine, not nicotine.

Are there 200 mg caffeine pouches?

The strongest in our data is Iceberg Energy Arasaka 150mg caffeine at 150 mg per pouch. 200 mg is the EFSA single-dose ceiling, so anything at or above that should be a one-at-a-time product.

Where can I buy caffeine pouches?

Online from the same stores that sell nicotine pouches; most of the 15 stores we compare carry at least a few. Every product above links to a price comparison with shipping by country.
