Who makes them
VELO is BAT’s pouch brand, sold across Europe. Nordic Spirit is Japan Tobacco International’s, launched in the UK in 2019 and sold mainly there. Both are tobacco-free slim pouches with 20 per can.
Range
Nordic Spirit keeps it to three strengths — 6 mg Regular, 9 mg Strong, 11 mg Extra Strong — and a 6 mg Mini, with mint, spearmint, bergamot wildberry and elderflower flavours. VELO goes from 4 mg to 17 mg across mini, slim and Max formats with a far longer flavour list. For heavy users VELO Max is the only option between the two.
Price
Nordic Spirit’s UK shelf price (around £6–7) is set by supermarket distribution; online it sells for less, but there are fewer stores competing on it than on VELO, so multipack discounts are rarer. VELO is listed by almost every store we compare, which keeps its online price under pressure.
